OVERVIEW OF THE DEPARTMENT Dear student, The department of Architectural Technology is delighted to welcome you into this citadel of academic environment where, creativity, craftsmanship, and visionary thinking come together to reshape the physical realm we inhabit. As an Architecture student, you are welcome into a world where design, aesthetics, and functionality merge to create spaces that inspire, innovate, and improve our daily lives. it is very important that you are guided about the departmental operations that will assist you in planning your time, resources as regards the period of academic session you are going into. The aim and objectives of the school among others are; to serve as agency for development through technical education courses which will transform into modernization of indigenous technologies in relation to socio-economic, cultural realities of the world: also to graduate students with adequate academic background with sufficient technology and field training which will be of help to relief the challenges of environmental development and management as a whole. You should count yourself lucky to have been admitted into such an accredited programme.. In this remarkable field, you will delve into the mastery of drafting, modeling and rendering, while continuously refining your abilities to communicate your vision coherently, both visually and verbally. To explore the transformative power of architectural design, To understanding the nuances of structures and their impact on individuals and communities. From iconic landmarks shaping skylines to intimate spaces that evoke emotions, To learn to shape your ideas into tangible and immersive realities VISION The vision is to achieve an efficient and effective information Technology driven economy for rapid and substance economic development. MISSION STATEMENT To make Ogun state the silicon valley of Nigeria and a key player in the African ICT market place AVAILABLE MODES OF STUDY Both ND and HND courses are run as a Full Time Programme. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ND PROGRAMME The general entry requirements into the National Diploma in Architectural Technology programme are Post basic Education Certificate (Post JSS) with at least 5 credit level passes at not more than two sittings in the following examinations or equivalent: i) WASSCE/SSCE/GCE English Language, Mathematics, Physics and any two subjects from the following: Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Geography, Further Mathematics, Economics/Commerce, Technical Drawing/Graphic Design, Painting & Decoration/Fine Art, Building Construction, Woodwork, Basic Electronics, Computer Studies. A pass in Technical Drawing/Fine Art will be an advantage. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE HND PROGRAMME The general entry requirements into Higher National Diploma in Architecture include: • All the entry requirements into the National Diploma Programme • A minimum of lower credit pass (CGPA 2.50 and above) in the cognate ND examination in Architectural Technology • A minimum of one year cognate work experience. In exception cases, ND diplomats with a pass (CGPA 2.00-2.49) in the ND examination that has two years of Industrial Work Experience in the specified field may be considered for admission in the HND Programme.
